The Platform

A Vision AND a Voice!

Ann has been part of this community for many years.  "My vision of the ideal Flower Mound is rooted in the best of my hometown, and the initial impressions I had of our town when we moved here almost 23 years ago"

Safety and Security come first

Safety and Security includes supporting Police and Fire Fighters who are ready to risk their lives every day to save ours. Neighbors care, and share a commitment and respect for each other, their families, and our properties.

Natural Beauty of our land

Protect and preserve in strategic balance with responsible growth and economic progress. Beautifully maintained parks and trails provide many opportunities for an active outdoor life. Development is carefully considered, maximizing shared benefits and minimizing drawbacks (such as density saturation).

Traffic

Study, Research and Make Good decisions that impact our citizens to ensure traffic flows smoothly, safely and conveniently through town.

Property Taxes

Fair and reasonable taxation.

Manage a budget that results in more affordable tax bills for our property owners and residents.

Ann's Background

image14

Ann grew up in a small town in the beautiful Fingerlakes Region of Central New York. It was a tightly knit community, one where you could play outside all day and the only thing your parents worried about was that you’d pretend not to hear them when they called you home for supper. Natural beauty abounded, schools were strong, activities plentiful, and neighbors cared. It’s not to say there weren’t issues. Luckily, those seemed to get hashed out around the dining table every Friday night, when close family friends gathered for coffee, dessert and a session of world-problem solving! Often seated at the table, or nearby, Ann was listening, and learning to find her voice; formulating values, expectations and habits she would eventually build her career and future family life upon.

By 1997, she’d graduated college, started a career, married and become a mother. Then, Ann’s husband was offered his dream-job. Along with it would come a family move to far-away North Texas. After one quick weekend visit, Ann’s mind was set on Flower Mound. It was perfect: a small-town, country feel; great location, close to everything; fantastic schools; affordable housing; parks, trails, friendly residents and a Master-Plan that defined planned and metered growth. The decision was easy.

Ann’s greatest joy has been the privilege of being mom to Joseph (now 24 years old). She does enjoy a few activities in her spare time, although it’s hard to say which are her favorites. Painting (walls and art), Cooking, Baking, and Reading are at the top of the list. DIY renovations are fun, but, not plumbing (which she learned the hard way).
